Exercise Four: Constant Tarot Learning

  • 1. Set aside some time for yourself, find a quiet space and clear your mind.
  • 2. Shuffle your tarot deck and focus on the question or intention you have in mind.
  • 3. Draw one card and place it in front of you.
  • 4. Take note of the image, symbols, colors, and emotions that the tarot card evokes in you.
  • 5. Use the Basic 1-Card Spread Example Questions to guide your interpretation of the card. Write down your insights, thoughts, and feelings.
  • 6. When you feel comfortable with the Basic 1-Card Spread, move on to the Basic 3-Card Spread. Shuffle your deck and draw three cards. Use the Basic 3-Card Spread Example Questions to guide your interpretation of the spread. Write down your insights, thoughts, and feelings.
  • 7. After mastering the Basic 3-Card Spread, try the Basic 5-Card Spread. Shuffle your deck and draw five cards. Use the Basic 5-Card Spread Interpretation to guide your interpretation of the spread. Write down your insights, thoughts, and feelings. Then use the Basic 5-Card Spread Example Questions to deepen your understanding of the spread.
  • 8. Once you feel confident with the Basic 5-Card Spread, move on to the 7-Card Spread. Shuffle your deck and draw seven cards. Use the 7-Card Spread Interpretation to guide your interpretation of the spread. Write down your insights, thoughts, and feelings. Then use the 7-Card Spread Example Questions to ask more specific questions and delve deeper into the spread.
  • 9. After mastering the 7-Card Spread, explore the Additional Spreads in the book. Choose one or more that resonate with you and practice using them to gain insight, clarity, and direction in various aspects of your life.
  • 10. Keep a tarot journal and record your readings, observations, and learnings. This will help you track your progress, refine your interpretation skills, and deepen your connection with your tarot deck.
